Drivers FAQs

Who pays for all my licenses and checks? 
The driver is responsible to obtain required Qualifications/ certifications/ cards.  

How much will I earn per trip? 
The driver will receive a basic pay of $40/hour for the support they are providing to the NDIS clients and $.70/km during the business hours of weekdays (6 am - 8 pm). You are eligible to receive a loading with the basic pay for the services you are rendering  after business hours (8:01 pm - 5:59 am), Saturdays, Sundays, and Public holidays. The KM fare will  remain the same. The basic pay and km fare will be updated once in a year. 

Do I get paid for the time spent with the rider while assisting them with shopping, medical appoints? 
Yes, you do get paid for assisting our riders. There are two components to billing, a kilometer and minute charge when you are driving and a support charge. GST is payable by the driver from the first dollar, Care N Travel will not pay GST on behalf of the driver.   

Is reporting compulsory?  
Reporting is compulsory for all rides with support. There may be rides that act like a normal taxi, where you pick a rider up and drop them to their destination. In rides like those, where no support time is required, you are not required to complete the reporting unless you think that there is something that should be brought to our attention. But, in rides where the rider needs support shopping, or going to a medical appointment, you must report the trip.  

Who will pay for the sanitization in my car?  
We require our drivers to sanitize their cars after every ride. Drivers will need to have antibacterial wipes or spray handy and sanitize the door handles and seat belts after every ride. It is the driver’s responsibility to ensure that their car is in a neat and tidy condition.   

How many rides can I expect in a fortnight?  
Care N Travel cannot give you an approximate number about how many rides you can get every fortnight. This is dependent on how many you are willing to take, as well as demand for our services.   

What happens if the rider cancels the ride at the time of the organized ride?    
Care N Travel has a no-show fee, where if the rider cancels upon driver reaching rider’s place, they are liable to a fee based on our cancellation policy. Drivers will receive a cancellation fee based on the total km and booking time.  

When will I receive my pay? Where can I see my earnings?  
The app would calculate your total earnings and allocate the funds automatically. You would be able to see your earnings on the app interface. However, while we are working on developing the app, we will be using a manual system You will receive your payment fortnightly.
